I haven't been able to see these materials yet, I'm just responding to the note that Roy supplies information that the 45th division liberated the camp. Roy did not come to Dachau (I think) until June, at least a month after liberation. His predecessor US Lt. Col Martin Joyce was commandant until July 1. His papers--including documents from the time of Dachau's liberation--can be found online at http://www.ltcoljoycepapers.org/.
